Looplet Terms of Use

Last updated: August 20, 2026

Looplet is a product of ThreeKiddos AI, LLC (“ThreeKiddos AI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Looplet, including its websites, applications, artificial-intelligence features, messaging tools, group-management features, and related services, which we collectively call the “Services.”

These Terms form a binding agreement between you and ThreeKiddos AI.

By creating an account, accepting an invitation, joining a Loop, purchasing a subscription, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms and the Looplet Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, do not use Looplet.

1. A Few Definitions

Loop: A shared group space within Looplet.

Loop Owner: The account holder who creates a Loop and is responsible for the subscription associated with that Loop. The Loop Owner has primary administrative authority over the Loop, including authority to designate or remove Loop Leaders, manage the Loop’s subscription and settings, and request deletion of the Loop.

Loop Leader: A user authorized by the Loop Owner to help administer a Loop. Loop Leaders can access information and Loop Content associated with the Loop and may manage Loop Members and Participants, add or update content, send messages and announcements, create tasks and events, create and assign inventory, and perform other administrative functions available through Looplet.

Loop Member: An account holder who has joined and been given access to participate in a Loop and is not acting as the Loop Owner or a Loop Leader.

Participant: A person represented or managed within a Loop who may not have a Looplet account. Participants may include children, players, students, family members, or other people associated with the group.

Loop Content: Information added to, created within, or generated through a Loop. This includes messages, replies, announcements, acknowledgements, reactions, files, images, library content, tasks, task activity, events, RSVPs, inventory, Participant information, AI questions, AI-generated responses, and feedback.

2. Who Can Use Looplet

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use Looplet.

Children under 18 may be included in a Loop as Participants, but they may not:

  • Create a Looplet account
  • Sign in using another person’s account
  • Send or respond to messages through Looplet
  • Interact directly with Looplet’s AI features
  • Otherwise use the Services themselves

If you use Looplet on behalf of a school, team, club, company, association, nonprofit, or other organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.

3. United States Availability

Looplet is currently offered only to individuals and organizations based in the United States.

To create or use a Looplet account:

  • You must ordinarily reside or be based in the United States.
  • Any Loop you create or manage must be primarily based in the United States.
  • The group activities coordinated through the Loop must be primarily based in the United States.

A Loop Owner or Loop Leader may not knowingly:

  • Create or operate a Loop primarily for a group based outside the United States
  • Invite a person they know is ordinarily based outside the United States
  • Use Looplet primarily to collect or manage personal information about people based outside the United States
  • Represent that Looplet is available in an unsupported country or jurisdiction

You may not use a virtual private network, proxy, false registration information, or another method to conceal your location or evade geographic restrictions.

Temporary travel outside the United States does not necessarily change where a person is ordinarily based. However, access to Looplet may be restricted or unavailable while traveling.

Public information about Looplet may be accessible outside the United States. That accessibility does not mean that the Services are offered or available in every country.

We may restrict, suspend, or refuse access from unsupported locations.

4. Accounts and Account Security

You agree to provide accurate and current account information.

You are responsible for:

  • Protecting your account and sign-in information
  • Using a secure email account and device
  • Keeping your contact information current
  • All activity occurring through your account, except activity caused by a security failure for which ThreeKiddos AI is legally responsible
  • Promptly notifying us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization

You may not:

  • Share your account with another person
  • Allow a child under 18 to use your account
  • Create an account using false information
  • Impersonate another person
  • Access another person’s account without permission

We may require additional verification before allowing access to an account or completing a sensitive request.

5. Looplet Is a Shared Group Service

A Loop is a shared group space, not a private personal storage account.

Information and Loop Content associated with a Loop is available to the Loop Owner and authorized Loop Leaders for that Loop.

Depending on the feature, permissions, and Loop settings, information may also be visible to other Loop Members.

This may include:

  • Profile and contact information associated with the Loop
  • Messages and replies
  • Announcement reactions and acknowledgements
  • Task assignments and completion activity
  • Event RSVPs
  • Files, images, notes, and library content
  • Inventory assignments
  • Participant information
  • AI interactions, ratings, corrections, and feedback
  • Other activity within the Loop

You should not treat communications or other information submitted to a Loop as private from the Loop Owner or authorized Loop Leaders.

Your password, authentication information, payment credentials, and ThreeKiddos AI’s internal security records are not shared with the Loop Owner, Loop Leaders, or Loop Members.

Authorized ThreeKiddos AI administrators may access Loop information when reasonably necessary to operate, support, secure, troubleshoot, or improve Looplet, as described in the Looplet Privacy Policy.

Authorized users may be able to copy, download, forward, screenshot, or otherwise retain information they can access. ThreeKiddos AI cannot control what another person does with information after receiving it.

6. Loop Administration and Control

Loop Content is created and maintained as part of a shared Loop.

The Loop Owner has primary administrative control over the Loop and may designate one or more Loop Leaders to help administer it. The Loop Owner may remove Loop Leaders at any time.

The Loop Owner and authorized Loop Leaders can access information and Loop Content associated with the Loop. They may also use the administrative features available through Looplet to:

  • Manage Loop membership and Participants
  • Add, organize, update, or remove Loop Content
  • Manage announcements, messages, tasks, events, files, inventory, and other Loop features
  • Manage access, settings, and permissions
  • Retain or delete Loop Content
  • Perform other administrative functions associated with the Loop

Loop Leaders exercise these administrative functions under the authority of the Loop Owner.

The Loop Owner is responsible for the Loop’s subscription and may request deletion of the Loop.

Users retain whatever intellectual-property rights they may have in content they create. Administrative control of a Loop or Loop Content does not transfer copyright or other intellectual-property ownership to the Loop Owner or a Loop Leader.

Contributing content to a Loop does not give the contributor the right to require removal of that content solely because the contributor later leaves the Loop or deletes their Looplet account.

By contributing Loop Content, you authorize ThreeKiddos AI to maintain that content as part of the applicable Loop and authorize the Loop Owner and authorized Loop Leaders to administer it in accordance with these Terms.

7. Loop Owner and Loop Leader Responsibilities

Loop Owners and Loop Leaders decide who may join a Loop and what information is added or maintained there, subject to the Loop Owner’s primary administrative authority.

As a Loop Owner or Loop Leader, you agree to:

  • Invite and admit people responsibly
  • Provide information about another person only when you have appropriate authority or permission
  • Obtain parental, guardian, organizational, or other authorization when required
  • Take particular care with information about children
  • Collect only information reasonably necessary for the group
  • Keep information reasonably accurate and current
  • Configure access and permissions responsibly
  • Remove information when it is no longer reasonably needed
  • Respond appropriately to requests to correct or remove information
  • Respect the privacy and rights of Loop Members and Participants
  • Comply with laws applicable to your group and its communications
  • Avoid using Looplet as the only source for emergency, safety-critical, or time-sensitive information

The Loop Owner is responsible for selecting and removing Loop Leaders and for managing the subscription associated with the Loop.

If you add information about a child, you represent that you are authorized to provide and use that information for the purposes of the Loop.

If an organization operates or sponsors a Loop, that organization, the Loop Owner, and the authorized Loop Leaders are responsible for deciding what group and Participant information should be collected and who should have access to it.

ThreeKiddos AI provides the technology used to operate the Loop. We do not independently verify every Loop Owner’s or Loop Leader’s authority to collect, access, or share information.

8. Loop Member Responsibilities

Depending on the features available within a Loop, Loop Members may:

  • View and react to announcements
  • Send, receive, and respond to messages
  • View and complete tasks
  • View events and RSVP
  • View permitted information about Loop Members and Participants
  • Access files, notes, and library content
  • Interact with Looplet’s AI features

Loop Members must use information obtained through a Loop only for appropriate purposes related to that Loop.

You may not use another person’s contact information, Participant information, schedule, location, allergy information, or other personal information for:

  • Unrelated advertising or solicitation
  • Harassment
  • Surveillance
  • Public distribution
  • Data brokerage
  • Identity theft
  • Another unauthorized or harmful purpose

9. Ownership of Loop Content

You retain whatever ownership rights you have in content you create and submit to Looplet.

Adding content to a Loop does not transfer ownership of that content to ThreeKiddos AI, the Loop Owner, or a Loop Leader.

However, by submitting Loop Content, you grant ThreeKiddos AI a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, display, format, adapt, analyze, and otherwise use that content as reasonably necessary to:

  • Provide and operate Looplet
  • Make content available to authorized users
  • Generate requested AI features
  • Deliver messages and notifications
  • Secure, maintain, troubleshoot, and support the Services
  • Investigate misuse or security incidents
  • Evaluate, develop, and improve Looplet as described in the Looplet Privacy Policy
  • Comply with law and enforce these Terms

This license allows us to use service providers acting on our behalf for those purposes.

The license lasts while the content remains in the Services and for any additional period reasonably necessary for backups, legal compliance, security, dispute resolution, or other purposes described in the Looplet Privacy Policy.

You also authorize the applicable Loop Owner and authorized Loop Leaders to administer content you contribute to their Loop. Administrative control may include organizing the content, controlling access to it, correcting group records, retaining it, or removing it.

Administrative control does not transfer your copyright or other ownership rights to the Loop Owner or a Loop Leader.

You represent that:

  • You have the right to submit the content
  • Your submission does not violate another person’s rights
  • You have appropriate authority to provide personal information about another person
  • Our permitted use of the content will not violate an agreement or legal obligation applicable to you

10. Shared Content After You Leave or Delete Your Account

A Loop may serve as an ongoing group record. Loop Content is associated with the shared Loop and is not maintained solely for the individual account that contributed it.

If you leave a Loop or delete your account, messages and other shared contributions do not necessarily disappear.

Messages, replies, acknowledgements, task activity, event activity, files, and other shared contributions may remain under the administrative control of the Loop Owner when reasonably necessary to preserve:

  • Group records
  • Event or task context
  • Information affecting other users
  • The usefulness and integrity of the Loop

The Loop Owner and authorized Loop Leaders may retain, organize, or remove Loop Content in accordance with these Terms and applicable law.

When an account is deleted, we may remove or de-identify the connection between retained content and the deleted account.

Information another person added about you or a Participant may also remain until it is removed by the Loop Owner, an authorized Loop Leader, or ThreeKiddos AI as required by applicable law.

Applicable privacy law may give you the right to request removal of specific personal information even where shared content would otherwise remain. Requests will be evaluated under applicable law and the Looplet Privacy Policy.

Information that has been aggregated or legally de-identified so that it can no longer reasonably be linked to you may be retained and used after account deletion.

11. Information That May Be Sensitive

Looplet may be used for ordinary group-coordination information that can still be sensitive, such as:

  • Dietary restrictions
  • Accommodations
  • Birthdays
  • Contact information
  • Children’s information
  • Schedules
  • Activity locations
  • Messages and other communications

You may provide this information only when it is reasonably necessary for the activities of the Loop and you have appropriate authority or permission to do so.

12. Information You Should Not Put in Looplet

Looplet is not designed to store highly sensitive identity, financial, authentication, or detailed medical records.

Do not upload or send:

  • Social Security numbers
  • Full payment card numbers
  • Bank account credentials
  • Passwords for Looplet or another service
  • Authentication or account-recovery codes
  • Government identification numbers
  • Copies of passports, driver’s licenses, or other identification documents unless a specific Looplet feature expressly supports them
  • Detailed medical records
  • Information whose collection or sharing would violate a law, court order, confidentiality obligation, or another person’s rights

Looplet is not an electronic medical record, health care service, or emergency medical system.

13. AI Features

Looplet uses artificial intelligence to help organize, retrieve, summarize, and answer questions about Loop Content.

AI-generated content may be incomplete, outdated, misleading, or incorrect.

You are responsible for evaluating AI-generated content before relying on or sharing it.

Do not rely on Looplet’s AI as the sole source for:

  • Accommodation information
  • Emergency instructions
  • Child-safety decisions
  • Time-critical schedule changes
  • Legal advice
  • Financial advice
  • Other high-stakes decisions

Important information should be confirmed with the appropriate person or original source.

As between you and ThreeKiddos AI, you may use AI-generated output provided to you through Looplet to the extent permitted by law.

AI-generated material may not qualify for intellectual-property protection. Similar or identical output may be generated for other users, and we do not guarantee that output is unique.

The Looplet Privacy Policy explains how AI providers process information and how Loop Content and feedback may be used to evaluate and improve Looplet.

14. Feedback and Product Improvement

You may submit ratings, corrections, comments, ideas, or other feedback about Looplet.

If you rate an AI response, the rating may be reviewed together with the related question, response, and relevant context so we can understand and act on the feedback.

You give ThreeKiddos AI permission to use feedback without restriction or compensation to:

  • Improve Looplet
  • Develop new features
  • Correct errors
  • Evaluate AI quality and safety
  • Improve customer support
  • Protect the Services

Feedback does not transfer ownership of your underlying Loop Content.

Our use of Loop Content for product improvement is governed by the Looplet Privacy Policy.

15. Acceptable Use

You may not use Looplet to:

  • Violate a law or encourage unlawful activity
  • Harass, threaten, exploit, discriminate against, or harm another person
  • Violate another person’s privacy, confidentiality, publicity, or intellectual-property rights
  • Upload information you do not have the right to provide
  • Collect information for unrelated commercial, advertising, surveillance, or harmful purposes
  • Send spam, scams, fraudulent communications, or unwanted solicitation
  • Distribute malware or harmful code
  • Interfere with the availability, integrity, or security of Looplet
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to an account, Loop, database, system, or network
  • Probe, scan, or test security controls without written authorization
  • Circumvent usage limits, access restrictions, or technical protections
  • Scrape or systematically extract Loop Content or user information
  • Reverse engineer the Services except where applicable law expressly permits it
  • Use automated systems to access Looplet in a manner not expressly authorized by us
  • Misrepresent your identity, organization, authority, age, or location
  • Use Looplet to create or improve a competing service using unauthorized access to the Services or Loop Content
  • Use Looplet in a manner that creates unreasonable legal, security, privacy, or technical risk

We may investigate suspected violations and may remove content or restrict access where reasonably necessary.

16. Messages, Invitations, and Notifications

Looplet may allow authorized users to communicate through:

  • In-app messages
  • Email
  • Push notifications
  • Text messages
  • Calendar invitations
  • Other communication channels

You are responsible for messages and invitations you send.

If you provide another person’s email address or phone number, you represent that:

  • You have a legitimate reason to contact that person
  • The contact relates to the applicable Loop
  • You have any consent or authority required by law
  • You will honor applicable opt-out or communication preferences

Delivery is not guaranteed. Communications may be delayed, filtered, blocked, or sent to an outdated address or device.

Do not rely on Looplet as the only method of sending an emergency or safety-critical message.

You may receive administrative and service-related communications that are necessary to operate your account or Loop. Marketing communications, if any, will include a way to unsubscribe where required.

17. Subscriptions, Billing, Cancellation, and Refunds

Some Looplet features require a paid subscription. The paid subscription is associated with a Loop and is managed by the Loop Owner.

Pricing and billing. The price, billing frequency, plan features, and other applicable subscription terms will be shown when the Loop Owner purchases a plan. The Loop Owner agrees to pay the charges and applicable taxes associated with the selected plan.

Automatic renewal. Unless otherwise stated at purchase, paid subscriptions automatically renew for successive billing periods until canceled. By purchasing an automatically renewing subscription, the Loop Owner authorizes ThreeKiddos AI and its payment provider to charge the selected payment method at each renewal at the then-applicable subscription price.

Cancellation. The Loop Owner may cancel the subscription at any time using the cancellation method provided through Looplet or the platform through which the subscription was purchased. Cancellation stops future automatic renewal. Unless otherwise stated, paid access will continue through the end of the billing period already paid for. Canceling a subscription does not delete the Loop or its Loop Content, but paid features may end or the Loop may be downgraded after the paid period expires.

Refunds. Subscription payments are generally nonrefundable, and we do not provide prorated refunds or credits for partially used billing periods, except where required by law or where we expressly state otherwise. If we issue a refund or credit in a particular situation, doing so does not obligate us to provide the same refund or credit in the future.

Trials and promotions. If we offer a free trial, introductory price, discount, or other promotion, the applicable terms, including when paid billing begins and the price that will apply afterward, will be disclosed when the Loop Owner signs up.

Price changes. We may change subscription prices or plan features. Changes to subscription pricing will apply to a future billing period after any notice required by applicable law.

Payment processing. Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider. ThreeKiddos AI does not store full payment card numbers. Use of the payment provider may also be subject to that provider’s terms and privacy practices.

Failed payments. If we cannot successfully process a payment, we may retry the charge and may suspend, downgrade, or terminate paid features until payment is received.

18. Account Deletion, Loop Deletion, Suspension, and Termination

You may stop using Looplet and delete your individual Looplet account at any time.

Deleting your account ends your access to Looplet and begins deletion or de-identification of information associated specifically with your account, subject to the shared-content, retention, security, backup, and legal provisions described in these Terms and the Looplet Privacy Policy.

Deleting your account does not automatically delete Loop Content you previously contributed. Shared Loop Content may remain under the administrative control of the applicable Loop Owner as described in Section 10.

If you delete your account while you are the sole Loop Owner, the applicable Loop will also be deleted unless ownership is transferred to another eligible user.

The Loop Owner may request deletion of a Loop. When a Loop is deleted, we will delete or de-identify associated Loop Content from our active systems, subject to reasonable legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, and other permitted retention requirements.

After information is deleted from our active systems, residual copies may remain in archived or backup systems before being deleted through our normal backup-retention processes. Information retained in backups is not used for ordinary business purposes and, if restored, remains subject to the applicable deletion request.

Deleting an account or a Loop does not automatically cancel a subscription. See Section 17 for subscription cancellation information.

We may suspend, limit, or terminate an account or Loop, or suspend or revoke Loop Owner or Loop Leader permissions, if we reasonably believe:

  • These Terms have been violated
  • Information was provided without appropriate authority
  • The account or Loop creates a security or safety risk
  • Looplet is being used unlawfully or abusively
  • A user is operating from an unsupported location
  • Payment is overdue
  • Continued access would threaten the rights or privacy of another person
  • Continued access would create unreasonable technical, legal, or operational risk

Where reasonably practical, we may provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue. Immediate action may be taken when necessary to protect people, information, or the Services.

Sections that by their nature should continue after termination will survive, including provisions concerning ownership, licenses, retained content, disclaimers, liability, indemnification, disputes, and general legal terms.

19. Third-Party Services

Looplet relies on third-party providers for functions such as:

  • Cloud hosting and storage
  • Communications
  • Payments
  • Artificial intelligence
  • Security
  • Customer support
  • Service analytics

Those providers may process information on our behalf as described in the Looplet Privacy Policy.

Looplet may also include links to, integrations with, or content from third-party services that you choose to use independently. ThreeKiddos AI is not responsible for your use of an independent third-party service, its availability, or its privacy and security practices. The third party’s own terms and policies may apply.

20. Our Intellectual Property

ThreeKiddos AI and its licensors own Looplet, including its:

  • Software
  • Source code
  • Design
  • Branding
  • Logos
  • Documentation
  • Interfaces
  • Databases
  • Features
  • Materials created by us

These Terms give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use Looplet in accordance with these Terms.

They do not transfer ownership of Looplet or ThreeKiddos AI intellectual property to you.

You may not use ThreeKiddos AI or Looplet names, logos, or branding in a way that suggests sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation without written permission.

21. Service Availability and Changes

We work to keep Looplet useful and reliable, but no online service is available all of the time.

Looplet may be interrupted because of:

  • Maintenance
  • Software errors
  • Internet or hosting outages
  • Security incidents
  • Third-party service failures
  • Events outside our reasonable control

Features may be added, changed, limited, or discontinued.

We do not guarantee that every feature or item of Loop Content will always remain available.

Do not use Looplet as the only copy of information that is critical to your organization, safety, finances, or legal obligations.

22. Disclaimers

Looplet is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ThreeKiddos AI disclaims warranties of:

  • Merchantability
  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Non-infringement
  • Accuracy
  • Availability
  • Reliability
  • Security
  • Uninterrupted operation

We do not guarantee that:

  • Looplet will always be available or error-free
  • Messages or notifications will always be delivered
  • Information provided by a Loop Owner, Loop Leader, Loop Member, or Participant is accurate
  • AI-generated content is complete or correct
  • Another authorized user will handle information appropriately
  • Loop Content will never be lost
  • Looplet will meet every legal, regulatory, school, medical, employment, or organizational requirement applicable to your group

Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot legally be excluded.

23. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ThreeKiddos AI and its owners, employees, contractors, affiliates, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to Looplet.

This includes loss of data, profits, goodwill, opportunities, or business interruption, even if we were advised that such damages were possible.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ThreeKiddos AI’s total aggregate liability for all claims arising from or relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of:

  • The amount you paid directly to ThreeKiddos AI for Looplet during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim; or
  • One hundred U.S. dollars

These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations. In those jurisdictions, these provisions apply only to the extent permitted by law.

24. Indemnification by Loop Owners, Loop Leaders, and Organizations

To the extent permitted by law, if you use Looplet as a Loop Owner or Loop Leader or on behalf of an organization, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ThreeKiddos AI and its owners, employees, contractors, affiliates, and service providers from third-party claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and reasonable legal expenses arising from:

  • Loop Content you or your organization provided
  • Your administration of a Loop
  • Your organization’s collection or use of personal information
  • A lack of authority or permission to provide information about another person
  • Messages or invitations sent by you or your organization
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of law or another person’s rights
  • Activities occurring within a Loop you own or manage, except to the extent caused by ThreeKiddos AI’s own unlawful conduct

We may control the defense of a covered claim. You agree to cooperate reasonably with that defense.

This section does not require indemnification from an individual consumer where prohibited by applicable law.

25. Governing Law and Disputes

Before filing a formal legal claim, you and ThreeKiddos AI agree to make a reasonable effort to resolve the issue informally.

A notice of dispute should describe:

  • The nature of the issue
  • The facts supporting the claim
  • The requested resolution
  • Contact information for the person making the claim

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Unless applicable law requires otherwise, any court proceeding arising from these Terms or the Services must be brought in the appropriate state or federal court located in Sacramento County, California.

Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking appropriate relief for an urgent security issue, misuse of intellectual property, or unauthorized access to the Services.

Mandatory consumer rights under applicable law are not waived.

26. General Legal Terms

Entire agreement. These Terms, the Looplet Privacy Policy, and any plan-specific terms presented at purchase form the agreement between you and ThreeKiddos AI concerning Looplet.

Order of terms. If plan-specific written terms conflict with these Terms, the plan-specific terms control only for that conflict.

Severability. If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective, and the unenforceable provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted.

No waiver. A failure to enforce a provision does not waive the right to enforce it later.

Assignment. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our written permission. We may assign these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction.

No third-party beneficiaries. These Terms do not create rights for anyone other than you and ThreeKiddos AI, except where expressly stated.

Electronic communications. You agree that electronic notices and agreements satisfy legal requirements that communications be in writing.

Events outside our control. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.

Headings. Section headings are provided for readability and do not change the meaning of these Terms.

27. Changes to These Terms

Looplet will continue to evolve, and we may update these Terms.

If we make a material change, we will provide reasonable notice through Looplet, by email, on our website, or through another appropriate method.

We may ask you to accept updated Terms before continuing to use Looplet.

The “Last updated” date at the top shows when these Terms were most recently revised.

Your continued use after updated Terms take effect means you accept them where permitted by law.
